Objective/s

  • Assist the BiH MoD and AF in upgrading the security of identified Armed Forces units’ arms rooms up to international standards.
  • Decrease the risk of loss and diversion of SALW and their ammunition in coordination with the Ammunition, Weapons and Explosives Master Plan in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Goal 7:

  • Ensure safe and secure SALW/firearms and ammunition storage facilities designated based on identified needs and in accordance with international standards.

Key activities implemented up to date

  • Initial pre-feasibility assessment in October 2019 to determine the overall issue and understand the requirements.
  • Reached out to potential donors (December 2021).
  • Initial draft planning based on the prioritization of the arms rooms by BiH.
  • Prioritization of arms rooms in five groups and initial cost estimate (2022).
  • Development of the project proposal (2023).
  • Identification of the implementing partner.
  • Development of the project proposal for the Preliminary Phase of the project.
  • Implementation of the Preliminary Phase of the Project (October 2024).
