Objective/s

The objective of the project is to further improve the security of SALW and ammunition stockpiles in Montenegro by supporting the upgrade of two SALW storage magazines and guardhouse of the MoI/Police Directorate SALW storage location Rogame, in line with international best practices and standards.

Contributing to the Roadmap goal/s

Goal 7 - Significantly decrease the risk of proliferation and diversion of firearms, ammunition and explosives.

Contributing to the Roadmap overall targets

Ensure safe and secure SALW/firearms and ammunition storage facilities designated based on identified needs and in accordance with international standards.

Key activities implemented up to date

  • The project design for the security upgrade of the two magazines and the guard house is finalised.
  • Tender for the reconstruction works and supervision finalised, and vendors selected.
  • Geodetic survey of the storage finalised.
  • Storage registered at the Cadaster and works announced at the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial planning and Urbanism.
  • Construction works finalised for two SALW storage magazines and guardhouse of the MoI/Police Directorate SALW storage location Rogame.
  • Technical handover done.
