Objective/s
Implementation of Small Arms Light Weapons (SALW) stockpile management procedures and processes; training for and oversight of SALW marking, labelling and registration activities; SALW management digitalization; inclusion of women in arms violence reduction, conflict prevention and recovery efforts.
Contributing to the Roadmap goal/s
Goal 2 -
By 2024, ensure that arms control policies and practices in the Western Balkans are evidence based and intelligence led.
Goal 7 -
Significantly decrease the risk of proliferation and diversion of firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Contributing to the Roadmap overall targets
Goal 2:

Fully integrate gender and age concerns in SALW/firearms control policies and ensure meaningful participation of women in SALW/firearms control.
Goal 7:

Strengthen the capacities of relevant state institutions (armed forces, law enforcement, forest guards, customs, correctional services) to establish inspection systems and implement Life Cycle Management of SALW and ammunition (where relevant).
Key activities implemented up to date

Fully implemented SALW marking and registration systems in Brcko District and in Posavina Canton. Implementation underway in Canton 10.
Main challenges encountered
Access to sufficient funding to appropriately scale the work for completion across BiH by end 2026.
