Objective/s

  • Alignment of Western Balkans Integrated Border Management (IBM) strategies with European Integrated Border Management (EIBM);
  • Operationalization of Status Agreements;
  • Developing National Coordination Centers (NCCs) in the context of EUROSUR;
  • Technical component – delivery of technical equipment for border checks and for border surveillance, and for NCCs.

Contributing to the Roadmap goal/s

Goal 3 - By 2024, significantly reduce illicit flows of firearms, ammunition and explosives (FAE) into, within and beyond the Western Balkans. 

Contributing to the Roadmap overall targets

Goal 3: Prevent trafficking (smuggling, illicit trade and transit) of FAE through improved processes, equipment and training of targeted law enforcement units.

Key activities implemented up to date

Project activity directly connected with firearms: Promotion of the regional Handbook on Firearms for Border Guards and Customs Officers in the Western Balkans.
