A man entered a café and opened fire at close range on a 46-year-old man believed to have links to organised criminal networks. The victim was killed at the scene. A second man, seated at a nearby table, was struck by two bullets and sustained serious injuries. The attacker fled immediately after the shooting, prompting a police manhunt. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected organized crime-related killing. The investigation showed that a second man waited outside on a motorcycle to facilitate the shooter's escape. Both men remain at large. As part of the investigation into the shooting, Montenegrin police arrested three men aged 45, 34 and 26 for forming a criminal group and providing logistical support to the perpetrators. According to the investigation, they facilitated the suspects' illegal border crossing from Serbia into Montenegro, organized their transportation and concealment to evade arrest. Searches conducted during the operation resulted in the seizure of 50 rounds of rifle ammunition, passports, and three vehicles.  On 1 July 2026, police arrested a 25-year-old Russian national for providing logistical support to the two homicide suspects after the shooting.
