Education and Work Experience
Education:
MA in social sciences or related field.
Work experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services and hands-on experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects;
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of technical advice and development of capacity building activities on gender equality in South East Europe.
Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of gender equality, political, institutional, and socio-economic situation in the region;
Practical knowledge and expertise in preparation of working arrangements and maintaining successful relations with national counterparts in the fields mentioned above is an asset;
Sound knowledge of UNDP rules and procedures would be an asset.
Personal qualifications
Excellent writing/reporting and presentation skills;
Excellent interpersonal, networking and team building skills;
Ability to deliver when working under pressure and within changing circumstances;
Language:
Written and spoken proficiency in English and Bosian, Croatian, Monetengrin, and Serbian (BCMS) is required. Knowledge of Albanian, Macedonian, Romanian or Russian is a strong asset.
Other:
Experience in the use of computers and office software packages and handling of web-based management systems is required.

Education and work experience
Education:
BMA in political or social sciences or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in project implementation, monitoring and reporting, in a development related field (democratic governance, human rights, poverty reduction, etc.);
At least 2 proven records of managing grants or other competitive funding allocation modalities, including preparing guidelines for calls for project proposals, supporting and overseeing implementation, and monitoring and reporting;
Minimum 3 years of working experience in international development organizations in South East Europe;
Experience in establishing or/and supporting the implementation of multi-donor trust funds will be an advantage;
Working experience in area of disarmament and arms control will be an advantage.
Language skills:
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, knowledge of another language used in South East Europe would be an asset.
UNDP Albania is seeking to engage a qualified national for the position of Technical Advisor, a person familiar and knowledgeable with the area of small arms and light weapons (SALW) control, capable of managing project activities and resources on a daily basis as well as on coordination and collaboration with relevant institutions.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Secondary Education

Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences or related field.
Experience:
1)
6 years of professional experience in fields relevant to the specific duties of the job such as in providing support to project implementation or administration is a requirement, preferably in an international organization (applicable for applicants having secondary education);
OR
3 years of professional experience in fields relevant to the specific duties of the job such as in providing support to project implementation or administrationis a requirement, preferably in an international organization (applicable for applicants having bachelor’s degree);
2) Experience in collection, analysis and presentation of information for preparation of project reports, project documents, concepts, workplans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangements and knowledge management products required;
3) Experience organizing meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and other events including logistical preparations and correspondence required;
4) Experience in procuring goods and services a strong asset;
5) Excellent understanding of the political and economic situation in the Western Balkans is an asset.
6) Knowledge of the existent legal and institutional frameworks for arms control, armed violence prevention and citizen security in South East Europe a strong asset;
7) Knowledge of UNDP rules and procedures would be an asset.
