The Health Center informed the Police Department that they had admitted a 33-year-old man with a gunshot injury. The victim stated to the police that he accidentally shot himself in the left lower leg while cleaning a pistol. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident, including how the victim acquired and possessed the firearm and ammunition without official authorization.
