A 19-year-old woman was shot and injured in a family home when her 24-year-old brother allegedly fired a pistol, injuring her. After the shooting, the perpetrator is believed to have discarded the unlicensed pistol into the river. Police later recovered the pistol during a search of the riverbanks. It is suspected that the shooting was accidental, caused by improper handling while the brother was showing his sister the firearm.
