A 20-year-old man threatened to kill his former 21-year-old girlfriend with a pistol and then take his own life, claiming  that he would also shoot at the police if they attempted to arrest him. Prior to the incident, the perpetrator had stolen a service pistol with bullets, a belt and handcuffs from his father, who was a police officer, from the family home, which the father immediately reported. The police located, disarmed and arrested the perpetrator. The weapon was seized.
