A sawed-off hunting shotgun and nine rounds of ammunition were seized from a 37-year-old man who lacked a permit. The weapon was found in a vehicle he was driving after police linked him to a burglary committed with an accomplice (still at large), during which a 22-year-old man was physically assaulted and money stolen. There is no indication that the firearm was used in the incident. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of robbery and illegal possession of weapons and was detained for up to 48 hours pending further prosecutorial action.
