Police carried out the operation codenamed “Night Eye” targeting illegal cultivation of narcotic plants and unauthorized possession of firearms. Following a multi-week proactive investigation, authorities destroyed 112 cannabis plants cultivated and during the searches of multiple residences resulted in the seizure of: one AK-47 assault rifle, two pistols, one hunting rifle, quantities of live ammunition (war type), detonator caps with safety fuse, knives and vehicle license plates. Five men were arrested, including two fathers and their sons aged 67 and 24, and 59 and 31, respectively, and a 37-year-old man. One additional 32-year-old man faces criminal proceedings, while another remains wanted as the investigation continues.
