Specialised equipment and tools for firearm maintenance were seized by customs officials at the border crossing point during an attempt to transport them into Moldova from Ukraine illegally. The items were discovered in two plastic boxes concealed in the luggage of a 30-year-old non-resident passenger travelling in a vehicle. Despite initial claims by the driver and passengers that they were not carrying undeclared goods, a detailed inspection led to the detection of the equipment. The case is being processed in accordance with national legislation.
