A 47-year-old man carried out an armed carjacking at the toll, threatening and stealing a vehicle from a man, a foreign citizen, then led police on a prolonged motorway pursuit during which he fired a pistol at pursuing patrols (at least two police officers). After abandoning the car, he hid in a camper/cabin. Following extended negotiations, the police arrested him. He has a lengthy criminal record and is detained on suspicion of armed robbery, attacking an officer in the line of duty, illegal possession of weapons, and causing general danger.
