Police seized 27 pistols, six improvised projectile-launching devices, and 247 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, and forged documents from a 51-year-old man’s residence during a migrant smuggling investigation involving him and a 64-year-old accomplice. The two perpetrators are accused of organising the illegal transport of 11 migrants, during which a boat capsized, resulting in one fatality.  The 51-year-old suspect is also charged with illegal possession and trade of weapons and explosives, as well as document forgery.  Both suspects were detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office.
