A 45-year-old man took a police officer’s service firearm while being escorted in a police vehicle and shot once towards the 20-year-old officer, injuring him in the thigh. The officer was transported for medical treatment and was reported to be out of danger. Police arrested the suspect, recovered the firearm, and found a quantity of suspected cocaine hidden on his body. The suspect had prior criminal records related to narcotics.
