Following a joint investigation by the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI), the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), Finnish Police, and Europol, authorities dismantled an international organized criminal group composed of Moldovan nationals. The group had been active for more than five years, specializing in large-scale thefts of money, jewelry, and other valuable items across Finland and other European countries. Law enforcement officers carried out 13 searches at the suspects’ residences and seized arms and ammunition were seized during police raids at the homes of 5 perpetrators aged between 32 and 46. Five individuals were arrested on suspicion of committing high-value thefts in Finland, with estimated material damages of approximately €600,000. The operation revealed that the group was involved in multiple offenses, including theft, robbery, kidnapping, money laundering, and the establishment of a criminal organization.
