Following investigations, a network for trading arms and their components inside and outside the country was dismantled. The police established that a group of persons, including persons holding certain positions in public institutions, created a well-organized scheme for illegal trade in arms and ammunition prohibited in civilian circulation or subject to authorization, essential components of firearms, strategic goods, military devices, and explosive materials.  

As a result, several searches were carried out at the homes of involved individuals and commercial premises of legal entities where eight rifles with a smooth-bore barrel of 12 mm calibre and one rifle with a 16 mm calibre smooth-bore barrel, one rifle with a 22 mm calibre rifled barrel and one rifle with a 30-60 mm calibre rifled barrel, legally owned with apparent signs of homemade modification of the barrel, were found and seized.

At the same time, eight firearms transfer documents with apparent signs of forgery, two silencers and two thermal imagers held without any records of origin, as well as several cartridges for lethal weapons with rifled barrels of 7.62, 9, 20, 25, 62, 30-60, 22 LR, mm calibre held illegally, without documents of origin and the appropriate authorization were found and seized.
The weapons and cartridges seized were forwarded for ballistic examination.
