The suspects, arrested near the Božaj border crossing in July, allegedly held migrants from Syria and Egypt in an abandoned building, stealing their money and assaulting them to coerce their families into paying ransoms. The indictment states that the suspects used firearms and knives to threaten the migrants, tied them up, and confiscated their phones and money. The migrants were forced to contact their families for ransom payments while being physically assaulted, leaving them injured.
