The Ministry of Defence of North Macedonia Prepares for the Evaluation of the second National Action Plan for the Implementation of UNSCR 1325 – Women, Peace, and Security

Two-day training for monitoring and evaluation of the Second National Action Plan (NAP) for the Implementation of Resolution 1325 - Women, Peace and Security (2020-2025) for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Republic of North Macedonia was held from 12 to 13 May 2022 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The training, organized by SEESAC at the request of MoD, increased ability of 10 MoD representatives in charge for the evaluation, to effectively apply results-based monitoring and evaluation principles and to translate evaluation recommendations into implementable actions for the next NAP.

Through the interactive training, the participants were introduced to the strategic framework in the policy-making and action plan making processes, taking into account gender perspective and evidence-based analysis. MoD representatives practiced how to measure the progress of NAP against the existing indicators, by choosing appropriate data collection methods, and, at the same time, to redefine the key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve the impact of NAP.

This activity is part of the Strengthening of Regional Cooperation on Gender Mainstreaming in Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans project, financed by the governments of Norway and the Slovak Republic.
