The Firearms Detection Training in Bosnia and Herzegovina
SEESAC organized the Firearms Detection training for the Representatives of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training was held in SIPA premises from 5 to 8 December 2023.
The training focused on advanced techniques for the detection and inspection of firearms, different forms of smuggling, and the specifics of smuggling and hiding weapons and explosive substances in vehicles.
During the four-day training, 25 representatives of SIPA were provided with theoretical knowledge of firearms detection and were learning from examples of good practices. Besides the theoretical part, the training had a practical exercise in which participants got a chance to inspect different types of vehicles in search of firearms.
The Firearms Detection Course was supported by the European Union through the EU Council Decision 2019/2111, in support of SEESAC’s disarmament and arms control activities in South East Europe, reducing the threat of illicit small arms and light weapons and their ammunition.
