Basic and Advanced Analyst's training for the representatives of the Firearm Focal Point (FFP) in North Macedonia
On 20-24 December 2021, SEESAC organized Basic Analyst's training for the representatives of the Firearm Focal Point (FFP) in North Macedonia.
This tailor-made training equipped the participants with the fundamentals of the Analyst notebook software usage, its functionalities, and the ways to use relevant data from the software and enact the intelligence to better identify, prevent and predict fire-arms related threats and criminalities. Participants learned how to create association and temporal charts using practical examples, visualization, and search and analysis exercise.
On 11-15 April 2022 in Skopje, the second, advanced module of the Analyst's training for the representatives of the FFP in North Macedonia was organized by SEESAC.
This advanced module, organized for the same audience, focused on further enhancement of the knowledge of the Analyst notebook software usage and its functionalities. Namely, training provided insight into charts for dissemination, creating and managing OLE objects, planning and customizing templates, list templates, visual search, importing, and finding of linked data and path, all followed by a practical exercise.
Apart from equipping the participants with core skills and practical knowledge, these trainings contributed to enhancing the strategic and operational capacities of the FFP North Macedonia to conduct firearms investigations as well as to contribute to better information exchange within the region.
This training was organized in the context of the implementation of EU Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/1788, in support of SEESAC for the implementation of the Regional Roadmap on combating illicit arms trafficking in the Western Balkans, specifically related to the capacity-building of FFPs in countering illicit trafficking and possession of firearms.
