UNDP SEESAC at the Justice and Home Ministerial Conference Brdo Process and SEE Cooperation Process
The UNDP SEESAC delegation led by Ms. Shelley Inglis, Regional Cluster Leader of the Governance and Peacebuilding Bureau for Policy and Programme Support at the UNDP Regional Hub in Istanbul, took part at the joint ministerial conference of the Brdo Process and the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), hosted by the Government of Montenegro in Pržno (Budva, Montenegro) on 16 and 17 April 2015.
The existing platforms of the Brdo Process already established by Interior and Justice Ministers enabled focused discussions devoted to the need to bring together all relevant stakeholders with the aim of developing a common approach on the issue of terrorism. The discussion was organized in two joint sessions. The first session was dedicated to the phenomenon of foreign fighters, the prevention of radicalization and illegal trafficking of weapons, ammunition and explosives, while the second session was dedicated to the judicial response to terrorism, including the prevention of terrorist financing.
Ms. Shelley Inglis, in her address to the plenary, on behalf of UNDP, pledged support to the undertakings devoted to the fight against trafficking of firearms, ammunition and explosives in the South East Europe.
