UNDP RR in Montenegro meets with Minister of Interior Affairs and Public Administration

On the 24th of May 2010 Mr Alexander Avanessov, UNDP Resident Representative in Montenegro, met with Mr. Ivan Brajovic, the Minister of Interior Affairs and Public Administration. Among other issues that were discussed was the implementation of UNDP/SEESAC’s project activities in the Republic of Montenegro, which will be funded by the European Union.

The parties identified the steps that need to be taken in order to provide the necessary framework and conditions for the implementation of UNDP/SEESAC\'s activities. The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Montenegro will nominate a focal point with whom UNDP/SEESAC will develop a work plan in order to achieve the following outputs:  a weapons registration system that a) will correspond to the needs of Montenegro, b) will be in line with best practices in the region and c) can be completed within the envisaged budget. Furthermore, an agreement was reached that high-level  coordination meetings will take place at least every two months.
