SEESAC Team discusses in Skopje the implementation of project activities

On 18 May 2010, the SEESAC Team and UNDP representatives in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia met in Skopje with Ms. Violeta Andonovska, State Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and Mr. Dusko Ivanov, State Counselor and National SALW Focal Point. The meeting focused on the implementation of SEESAC’s project activities in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, funded by the European Union.

During the meetings it was agreed that the Ministry of Interior would provide SEESAC with sets of specifications concerning the upgrade and maintenance of the national weapons registration system as well the enhancement of the record-keeping process. Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) will work on providing detailed information about the infrastructure upgrades required for the record-keeping facility. The information provided by the MoI will be used by SEESAC as a background for the development of the tender documentation. The participants agreed to hold further regular meetings to discuss the implementation of the project the project activities.
