SEESAC Supports Capacity Building of Female Officers in the Western Balkans
Through its Gender Equality in the Military project UNDP SEESAC is providing support to two female officers from the Ministries of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to attend the Defence Capability Management Course at the Cranfield University from 7 to 11 September 2015.
UNDP SEESAC supports the participation of women officers in the Armed Forces (AF) in the Western Balkans in short specialized courses with the aim to that strengthen their knowledge and skills, and consequently their career prospects in the military.
The Cranfield University is part of the UK Defence Academy and, as such, it is a leading institution in offering short professional development courses in the area of defence and security. From the beginning of the project in 2012, UNDP SEESAC supported seven female officers from the Armed Forces in the Western Balkans in attending specialized, short courses at the Cranfield University.
