NCGM Commander Jan Dunmurray on relevance of gender training for the military and cooperation with SEESAC

Commander Jan Dunmurray from the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM) talks to Odbrana (Defence), a weekly magazine of the Serbian Armed Forces, about gender perspective in military operations during a training for gender trainers in the military organized by SEESAC and NCGM for Ministries of Defence (MoDs) and Armed Forces (AF) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Serbia.

 

The training was organized as part of UNDP SEESAC project Gender Equality in the Military: Strengthening of Regional Cooperation on Gender Mainstreaming in Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans . The aim of the project is to mainstream gender in defence policies thus contributing to good governance and increased efficiency in the security sector in the Western Balkans. The project is implemented in close cooperation with Ministries of Defence and Armed Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Serbia.
