Montenegro Publishes its 7th Annual Report on Foreign Trade in Controlled Goods
The Ministry of Economy of Montenegro, the leading agency in the arms transfer control system of Montenegro, has published its 7th Annual Report on Foreign Trade in Controlled Goods. It presents an overview of Montenegrin exports and imports of weapons, military equipment, and dual-use goods in 2013.
The report provides a statistical overview of the issued export and import licenses of army and military equipment, as well as of the issued licenses of non-military munitions. In addition, the report presents data on brokering activities as well as detailed information on denied applications for requested export and import of control goods.
Furthermore, the report contains information on national legislation, international treaties, and other regulations under which the trade of controlled goods is carried out. Finally, it reflects on Montenegro’s practices in terms of international cooperation, its efforts in capacity building in the field of controlled goods transfer controls, and last, but not least – its prospective activities in the realm of export-import controls of controlled goods.
The report was drafted in line with EU recommendations in terms of content and layout in order to be consistent with corresponding reports of EU member states as well as other countries in the region.
The report is available in both English and Montenegrin. It has been published with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, which provided the necessary financial assistance for its translation and publication; while the UNDP’s SEESAC initiative provided the required technical expertise and support.
