Montenegro Publishes its 6th Annual Report on Foreign Trade in Controlled Goods

The Ministry of Economy of Montenegro, a leading agency in the arms transfer control system of Montenegro, has produced its 6th Annual Report on Foreign Trade in Controlled Goods, this time covering the period from 1 January through 31 December 2012.

The report gives a detailed description of the issued and realized licenses for export, import and brokering activities in 2012. Given that the licenses issued in 2012 can be realized throughout the year 2013, this report does not cover the realization of all licenses issued in the period covered.

The report also contains information on Montenegro’s policy of export/import controls, Law on Foreign Trade in Controlled goods - in effect since 1 July 2009, national control lists, competent institutions in the licensing process, licensing criteria, international agreements, past experience in the field of foreign trade of controlled goods, participation in workshops and further advancement of the control system, as well as a statistical analysis of the  licensing data provided in the tables.

The report was prepared in accordance with EU recommendations regarding the format and the content of national reports in order to be compatible with the EU reports and comparable with the national reports of the neighboring states.

The report is available in both English and Montenegrin languages.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway secured the necessary financial support for the translation and publication of this report, while SEESAC provided the technical expertise and support.
