Montenegro Issues the 5th Annual Report on Foreign Trade in Controlled Goods

The Ministry of Economy of Montenegro, a leading agency in the arms transfer control system in Montenegro, has produced the 5th annual report on foreign trade in arms, military equipment and dual-use goods for the period of 1 January through 31 December 2010.

The report gives a detailed description of the issued and realized licenses for export, import and brokering activities in 2010. Given that the licenses issued in 2010 can be realized throughout the year 2011, this report does not cover the realization of all licenses issued in the period covered.

The report also contains information on Montenegro’s policy of export/import controls, Law on Foreign Trade in Controlled goods - in effect since 1 July 2009, national control lists, competent institutions in the licensing process, licensing criteria, international agreements, past experience in the field of foreign trade of controlled goods, participation in workshops and further advancement of the control system, as well as a statistical analysis of the  licensing data provided in the tables.

The report was prepared in accordance with EU recommendations regarding the format and the content of national reports in order to be compatible with the EU reports and comparable with the national reports of the neighboring states.

The report is available in both English and Montenegrin languages. The production of the report has been made possible thanks to the technical expertise and support provided by UNDP/SEESAC and financial assistance of the Kingdom of Norway.
