Media Advisory: UNDP SEESAC presents results achieved in the Western Balkans by its Gender Equality in the Military Project

Gender Equality in the Military Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme’s SEESAC initiative (UNDP SEESAC) and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Armed Forces and UNDP, is holding its closing conference “Strengthening of Regional Cooperation on Gender Mainstreaming in Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans”, on 15 June 2016, at 09:00h in Belgrade’s Radisson Blu Old Mill Hotel

UNDP SEESAC's project Support for Gender Mainstreaming in the Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans facilitated regional cooperation on gender equality in the military among Ministries of Defense in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro,  Serbia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; increased gender awareness in the military, strengthened gender equality mechanisms, and gender responsiveness of human resources policies and practices with the aim to attract and retain women in the profession in the Western Balkans.
