Development of a Regional Trust Fund

Ms Cihan Sultanoglu, Deputy Assistant Administrator & Deputy Regional Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe & the CIS, has presented to the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) the draft documents, prepared by RBEC and SEESAC, for the establishment of a regional trust fund. The purpose of the trust fund will be to support the implementation of projects in Southeast Europe in the following thematic areas: economic and social development; infrastructure and energy; justice and home affairs; security cooperation; building human capital; and parliamentary cooperation. The RCC Board will review the draft documents on its next meeting in September 2009.
