Albania Publishes its 6th Annual Report on Arms Exports
The Albanian State Export Control Authority (AKSHE) published Albania’s sixth Annual Report on Export Control, with the support of SEESAC. The report contains details on the type, quantity, and value of military goods exported and imported by the Republic of Albania in 2013, as well as the countries of destination and origin for these goods, the military list categories they fall under, and the number of licenses issued for each of
them.
The report also outlines Albanian national legislation on export control of military and dual-use goods and the licensing procedures involved. It offers an overview of key international agreements on arms exports control that Albania strives to join, as well as those that Albania is currently a signatory of, along with the activities of the Albanian authorities related to international cooperation and cooperation with the relevant industry actors. Finally, there is a list of private and state
entities registered and equipped with registration certificate.

Under the auspices of its Western Balkans Arms Transfers Control Programme (ACP), generously supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, SEESAC has been supporting the authorities of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as they work to further strengthen their national arms transfer control capacities. The Arms Transfers Control Programme has contributed to a significant increase of transparency in arms transfers, as well as regional confidence building, knowledge transfer, and information sharing in the Western Balkans.
