5th Round of the Roadmap Local Coordination Meetings held in the Western Balkans

Six Local Coordination Meetings in the framework of the implementation of the Regional Roadmap on a sustainable solution to arms control in the Western Balkans (Roadmap) were organized by the SALW (Small Arms and Light Weapons) Commissions in Pristina, Skopje, Podgorica, Tirana, Belgrade and Sarajevo during June and early July 2021.

During these meetings, representatives reviewed the progress and discussed plans to implement the Roadmap and the Action Plans with relevant institutions responsible for SALW control, regional and international partners, and donors. They were joined by representatives from the European Union and the embassies of France and Germany and numerous international organizations and donors.

Following Local Coordination Meetings, representatives of SALW Commissions will come together on 6-7 July 2021 for the Fifth Regional Coordination Meeting.

The meetings are organized with the funding support of the European Union through its Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/1788, in support of SEESAC for the implementation of the Regional Roadmap on combating illicit arms trafficking in the Western Balkans.
