Workshop held to support developing new Law on weapons

A three-day workshop dedicated to the development of the new Law on weapons was held in Pristina on March 25, 31, and April 1. The workshop presented a great opportunity to analyze the concordance of the existing Law on weapons with the EU Acquis and to overcome the gaps with the definition of new legal provisions.

The workshop gathered representatives of the Department of Public Safety and UNDP SEESAC experts who worked together on the development of the Concept Document on the Law of weapons and discussed in detail the draft of the secondary legislation on weapons production.

This activity directly contributes to Goal 1 of the Roadmap on ensuring that arms control legislation is in place, fully harmonized with the EU regulatory framework and other related international obligations, and standardized across the region by 2023.
