From 7-10 May 2012, a Workshop on Gender and Security will be held for the Council members of the Women Police Officers Network in South East Europe (WPON) in Zlatibor, Serbia. The aim of the Workshop is to raise awareness and further develop capacities of WPON members to act as gender advocates within their police services and ensure that issues of gender are adequately considered in the work of those institutions. The Workshop will be organized jointly by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, the South East Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) and UNDP/SEESAC, which is providing Secretariat functions to the WPON through a project "Support for Gender Mainstreaming In Policing Practices in South Eastern Europe". The project is implemented by UNDP/SEESAC in close cooperation with the South East Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA).
From 1st through 3rd of December 2011, Women Police Officers Network in South East Europe (WPON) will be holding its second Annual meeting in Becici, Montenegro. The meeting will be organized by the South East Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) and UNDP/SEESAC, which serves as WPON's Secretariat as a part of its Support for Gender Mainstreaming in Policing Practices in South Eastern Europe project.
On 17 November 2011, The Ministry of Interior of Albania, with the support of UNDP/SEESAC, will be holding a presentation of the report "Establishing the Southeast Europe Women Police Officers Network - Research Findings."
