Weapons stolen from the Čačak barracks

Unknown persons stole around 30 automatic rifles and two machine guns from the barracks "Tanasko Rajić" in Čačak, which has not accommodated soldiers for years.

The RTS confirmed that the unknown persons had stolen around 30 automatic rifles and two machine guns from the barracks "Tanasko Rajić" in Čačak, which had not been occupied by the military for years.

According to the yet unofficial information, 30 automatic rifles and two machine guns were taken away.

According to unofficial information, the theft was discovered on Wednesday morning, and the guards had not noticed anything suspicious the night before.

Investigation about the theft is conducted by the Safety Intelligence Agency and the Police Office in Čačak. The Ministry of Defense stated that the competent military and state authorities would investigate how the weapons were stolen from the military depot.

The Čačak garrison was abolished in 2004. There were two barracks at the time, which are still under the control of the Serbian Army
