June 25th, 2010 - Arms Exports Oversight Meeting in Bosnia and Herzegovina Source: SEESAC On 22 June 2010 SEESAC organized a meeting between Members of the Joint Committee for Defense and Security in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ![]() | June 25th, 2010 - SEESAC Team Leader meets MPs of Montenegro Source: SEESAC On 25 June 2010 in Podgorica, Montenegro, SEESAC organized a meeting with Members of the Parliament (MP) and their staff to discuss the parliamentary oversight of arms exports. As a result, the agreement was reached to organize an inter-institutional conference between MPs and representatives of the executive branch in the first week of September 2010. The goal of the conference is to present to the MPs the implementation of arms export control legislation by the Government and to develop oversight procedures that would contribute to increased accountability and transparency. In an effort to further regional cooperation and knowledge sharing, Montenegrin MPs will invite representatives from the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to share their experience in parliamentary oversight of arms exports. Furthermore, the MPs will consider holding a dedicated session of the Committee on Defence and Security where government representatives will provide information about the annual national report on arms exports. ... read more |
