A new chapter of our partnership with the European Union

A new chapter of our partnership with the European Union (EU) opened as EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs agreed on 19 November 2018 to a new Council Decision supporting SEESAC’s work on the Regional Roadmap for fighting illicit arms trafficking in the Western Balkans. The Roadmap is an initiative developed by the region for the region with SEESAC’s technical assistance and supported by the governments of France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Developed upon the already successful Council Decisions implemented by SEESAC, the Roadmap-related Council Decision endorses actions related to combatting arms trafficking from equipment for border police to mainstreaming gender equality in arms control-related policies. The Roadmap envisages South East Europe as an exporter of security for all European citizens.
