Guidelines for Gender Sensitive Police Practice
One of the key activities undertaken by WPON is the development of Guidelines for Gender Sensitive Police Practice that can be utilized by each of the police service in the region to enhance gender equality in their own institutions.
Working towards this goal, in September 2011, WPON organized a workshop where members of WPON analyzed questionnaire inputs, provided by seven police services in South Eastern Europe, on existing policies and practices related to the recruitment, selection, retention and professional development for women in police services. Based on the analysis, the group developed draft guidelines, which will be finalized by the end of 2011.
