Regional Arms Exports Information Exchange Process

SEESAC is initiating the Regional Arms Exports Information Exchange Process by hosting a series of meetings where government representatives will discuss various topics including the existing export embargoes; national export policies for particular destinations; types of goods exported to specific destinations; legal regulations of information on licence denials; and the criteria for licence denials.

The goal of the Regional Arms Exports Information Exchange Process is to increase transparency and confidence between the countries from the region and to further harmonize the arms exports control policies.

SEESAC will act as the Secretariat for this process with the task to facilitate the exchange of information through the organization and chairing of regular meetings between representatives of countries participating in the process. SEESAC will organize the first meeting on 12 November 2009 in Belgrade, Serbia. Government representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia will participate in the first meeting.
