Albanian Annual Report on Export Control for 2007 and 2008

The Republic of Albania has produced their first national report on export and import of arms, military equipment and dual-use goods covering the period from 01 Jan 2007 to 31 Dec 2008.

Adoption of the law on "State Control over Import-Export Activity of Military Equipment and Dual-use Good and Technologies" constitutes the basis of the Albanian state export control system.

The responsible institution in the Republic of Albania for implementation of the state policy in the field of import/export control is the State Export Control Authority (AKSHE).

The main body of the Report contains general information on applicable legislation  related to export control activities, the policy of export and import controls, competent institutions and stages in state export control system, legal documents, decisions and sanctions issued by AKSHE, national lists, international regimes, as well as information about international cooperation activities and cooperation with the national industry.

The annexes contain data on the national imports and exports of military list goods in 2007 and 2008.

The current objectives of the Government of Albania are: training activities for  the implementation of national legislation and efficient adaptation to the international norms in the field of export control, further strengthening the cooperation among  the relevant state institutions, adoption of the new national list of military goods and dual-use goods and technologies, fulfillment  of international commitments,   accession  to international treaties and regimes, establishment of efficient regional cooperation and the implementation of the TRACKER system.
