Gender trainers in the military and psychologists from the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Montenegro start a two-days joint training on Gender Equality

Budva, 12 February 2020 - A two days Gender training for the instructors and psychologists part of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Montenegro, started today within the Strengthening of Regional Cooperation on Gender Mainstreaming in Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans project, that UNDP SEESAC is implementing in Western Balkans.

The Training is organized at the request of the MoD with the aim to strengthen the capacities of trainers on gender in the military and psychologists as well as to facilitate networking among them. Furthermore, it will increase the capacities of the MoD and AF representatives to analyze the data gathered through the survey on job satisfaction of MoD employees in 2020. The survey will be conducted by МоD with the aim to get a better understanding of how to improve working and career conditions for both men and women.

Mr. Željko Vukčević, from the Secretariat - General of the Government of Montenegro, will deliver one session in order to provide information on the current policies, mechanisms, and efforts of the Government on the integration of gender equality in public policies.

During 2020 UNDP SEESAC will continue to uphold small-scale projects developed by MoD in Montenegro in order to support institutionalizing Gender Equality Mechanisms, and further strengthen evidence-based policymaking and enhance prevention and response to gender-based discrimination.
